general Which languages are supported?
At launch spelvi ships with full dictionaries for nine languages, each with definitions, IPA pronunciation, synonyms and idioms. Grammar lessons are CEFR-graded from A1 to C2. More languages are on the roadmap.
general Is spelvi free?
The core dictionary, lessons, reader and progress tracking — including free cloud backup — are free to use. A Pro plan unlocks unlimited AI explanations, advanced pronunciation analysis and the full audiobook library. You'll never lose access to words you've already saved.

dictionary How does the dictionary work across the app?
Tap any word — in a lesson, a book, or the news reader — and the same rich entry appears: definition, pronunciation, part of speech, examples and a one-tap Save. No copy-paste, no switching apps. Saved words sync to every device on your account.
speaking How is pronunciation scored?
Speak a word or sentence and spelvi compares your audio against native models in real time, returning a score out of 100 plus the exact sounds to focus on. Audio is processed for scoring and is not stored unless you choose to save a recording.
ai What can the AI help with?
Three things: explaining a word in the exact sentence you found it, turning your saved words into a short story for review, and unpacking why a grammar answer was wrong. It's a tutor for the moment you're stuck, not a chatbot to wander in.
reading Where do the books and news come from?
Books are public-domain titles with matching audiobooks, so you can read and listen together. The news reader pulls level-appropriate articles you can tap through word by word. Everything supports one-tap lookup.
Account & data
account Does my progress sync between devices?
Yes. Your saved words, streaks and lesson history back up to the cloud for free and follow your account across iOS and Android. Sign in on a new device and everything is there.
account Can I export or delete my data?
Anytime. Delete your account and all synced data directly in the app from
Settings → Delete account. We don't sell your data — see our
Privacy Policy for the details.
billing How do I manage or cancel Pro?
Pro is billed through the App Store or Google Play, so you manage and cancel it from your store subscriptions. Cancelling keeps Pro active until the end of the period, then returns you to the free plan with all saved words intact.
